SNAP PAC Endorses Ilya Sheyman for Congress Ilya Sheyman Will Be Taking Your Questions Online Tonight!

Sheyman Leads In First Poll of the Primary

By SNAP Communications On January 12, 2012 · 3 Comments · In Uncategorized

Today the Chicago Sun-Times is reporting that SNAP endorsee Ilya Sheyman has a narrow edge in the first poll to be released for the Democratic Primary in Illinois’ 10th congressional district. In a survey of 410 likely primary voters, Sheyman leads Brad Schneider 23% to 21%, with two other candidates each taking 5% of the vote, and over 50% undecided. With so many votes still up for grabs, this is going to be a campaign that really comes down to the ground game – that is why for the first time in our history we are launching a spring fellowship program so that Ilya has even more hands on the ground to help him win the nomination.

But the real good news about the primary comes from Politico - while 50% of voters may be undecided, 64% prefer a progressive candidate for Congress, where as only 25% would like a moderate. Ilya is the progressive choice in this race, and we are proud to be among the large coalition of progressive organizations helping him come across the finish line in first.
